Launch X-PROG 3 PC Adapter Clone VW MED17.5.25

This is a tutorial on how to use Launch X431 G3 + X-PROG PC Adapter to clone Volkswagen MED17.5.25 ECU on bench. By connecting with the PC adapter, G3 can work as X431 ECU & TCU Programmer to read and write ECU data.

Connection

1. Open X-PROG3 PC Adaptor software, enter ECU model to search, and select:

Volkswagen(VW), Beetle 2011-2017, CYVD 1197 104, MED17.5.25 TC1782F 320

2. Click "Direct connection of diagram" to get the wiring diagram for the connection.

Procedure

1. Backup Original ECU Data

Click "Read chip ID".

Read EEPROM data >> Save EEPROM data file

Read FLASH data >> Save FLASH data

Disconnect.

2. Data Processing

Go back to the previous interface

Data processing >> Data cloning >> VW MEDC17 clone >> Load the FALSH file of the original ECU >> Load the EEPROM file of the original ECU >> Load the FLASH file of the external ECU >> Load the EEPROM file of the external ECU

Clone data was generated successfully.

Save the cloned EEPROM data and write it back to the new ECU.

3. Write to the New ECU

Click "Read chip ID" again.

Write EEPROM data >> Selected the cloned ECU data file

Write FLASH data >> Select the original car FLASH data restoration

Disconnect.
